WHY Join?

PAHPM is a constituency organization within the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA).  However, another crucial organization to PAHPM is the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM).  Collaboration between PAHPM and AAHPM has resulted in a Physician Assistant Special Interest Group (SIG) within the AAHPM.  This allows PAs greater representation within both AAPA and AAPHM!

  • Membership gives opportunity to interact and personally grow in leadership skills
  • Become an integral part of advocating for legislative issues surrounding palliative and hospice care.
  • Contribute to educational content by presenting at national conferences and/or publication
  • Assist in development of content for PA programs curriculum on Palliative and Hospice Medicine
  • Pay it forward to your alma mater by obtaining tools to assist in  presentation of the importance of the fields of hospice and palliative medicine to PA students
  • Opportunity for scientific studies and research to enhance the field of palliative care in clinical process flows, best practices, quality of life outcomes, life expectancy, hospital budget outcomes, bereavement issues, etc.

The options are endless!

Your individual input is acknowledged and appreciated as there are too few to do the great work in Palliative Medicine!
